UX Researcher/UX Research Operations Analyst @ UCLA Health
Feb. 2025 - Feb. 2026
  • Collaborated with study team to recruit, remotely train, and monitor 600 participants for a digital mental health study in collaboration with Apple

  • Trained and onboarded a diverse group of participants in the use of Apple Watch and iOS applications, through usability-style assessments, providing support for seamless usability and clarity on research goals

  • Diagnosed technical issues, identified user pain points, documented user feedback with digital health apps, and advocated for user needs by escalating findings to investigators, to ensure high engagement over a 6-month period 

  • Boosted retention rates by monitoring multiple high volume data streams, contacting participants to address compliance, identifying friction points, and applying habit-formation principles to improve long-term adherence

  • Piloted and streamlined workflows to ensure accurate data collection and study documentation, enabling research team to access insights efficiently

Data Analyst @ UC Berkeley
  • Mobilized with cross-functional teams to develop studies, engage with research partners and stakeholders, make data-informed decisions, and recommend changes for multiple environmental public health projects

  • Spearheaded an occupational healthcare risk factors study by successfully recruiting and completing 57 interviews with participants, and analyzing and synthesizing results into actionable recommendations

  • Programmed data in R by merging datasets, querying and cleaning data, reviewing for quality and accuracy, consolidating data, creating final datasets, and conducting basic analyses

  • Analyzed results by coding interview responses in Dedoose to determine major themes, and manipulating data in R to produce descriptive statistics, graphs, figures, and tables

  • Created a poster, infographic, and presentation to disseminate results to stakeholders, in order to acquire $1.5 million in funding for future biomonitoring research, and to improve workplace outcomes for study participants

  • Executed a mixed methods UX research project, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques, to validate the concept of an nascent platform by assessing the project scope, conducting rigorous test methodologies, and scaling approaches

  • Developed the research plan with clients and study team, appropriately selected test methods, and analyzed results to uncover actionable insights for the platform design, features, and user experience

  • Conducted moderated interviews to understand users’ interests and needs, administered surveys via Qualtrics to identify features to implement, compared and analyzed the competitor’s platform through usability tests to understand which features to prioritize building, designed low-fidelity prototypes on Figma, and performed prototype tests

  • Translated research insights into design solutions that advocated for the user, iterated and improved designs based on feedback, and ensured final prototypes reflected user needs and business goals alike

  • Communicated key findings, through a written report and oral presentation, to inform clients on product strategy and business pitch, resulting in securing $7000 in funding to launch the platform

Clinical Research Coordinator @ Olive View-UCLA Medical Center
  • Corresponded with cross functional teams in a fast-paced hospital to manage and coordinate day-to-day activities for multiple pharmaceutical and NIH studies with over 200 patients

  • Designed a NIH smoking cessation study, FIESTA, by planning the recruitment strategies, determining follow-up procedures, increasing study engagement, and adapting to new solutions for patient retention strategies

  • Screened, recruited, and determined eligibility of participants by examining laboratory records, reviewing medical charts, calling patients, or seeing patients in person

  • Boosted retention rates from 65% to 80% by consulting participants through the informed consent process, interviewing through questionnaires, scheduling visits, and providing ongoing communication about clinical trials

  • Streamlined the integrity of patient information by maintaining accurate records of consent and case report forms, ensuring quality data, updating data through REDCap, submitting documents to IRB, and adhering to HIPAA compliance and privacy/confidentiality requirements
